(The first time, by the way, that I actually accepted that qualifier as a compliment.) The prognosis was 4-6 weeks on a walker and 8 weeks on a cane. 3 weeks later my older daughter gave birth to her third child, Grant Benjamin, and I was right at her side helping her push. 4 days after that my younger daughter was married and I walked her down the aisle. Both blessed events were managed (quite well, I'm told) without the aid of walker or cane. Adrenaline? No doubt. Determination? You betcha. Support? That's the best part… Because "for a woman my age" not only do I have good bones, I have a loving family, amazing and generous friends, and physical therapist who kicks A!
