If you’re here, you’ve likely glanced into a mirror at some point, possibly by surprise, and didn’t recognize the woman you saw. Maybe she had grayer hair. Or a different demeanor than you “see” every day. Maybe you simply wondered “what happened to the woman I used to see”.
A few years ago I caught sight of a woman going up an escalator and did a double-take. It was me. I was pleasantly surprised (just had my make-up done at the cosmetics counter!) but confounded at who I saw.
After 50, women in our society often become invisible. The fashion magazines and media pay little attention to us. Our families are often starting their own families and needing us less. Many of us have been downsized from fulfilling careers and are finding our value may be questioned. And, too often, we become invisible to ourselves, dreading the changes that the future holds for us. It’s only natural that we lose sight of “us”.
Mirror Image is an inspiration and solutions resource for women over 50 so that we can get as much living and joy out of these interesting years.
There are two main paths we follow:
Image – how do you look and feel your best. We tackle topics of style and sizes, make-up and hair …and how to look our best as our physicality changes.
Identity – who is that incredible woman in the mirror and how can she best spend her future. Future topics will include legacy work, understanding loss, and prioritizing your life.
